ABOUT MRS. GLOMB


     

Sherlee Glomb is an educator, conductor, director and accompanist who has taught over 20 years in Virginia and Florida. She received the Master of Music Education degree with emphasis in choral conducting from Florida State University, a Post Masters degree in Administration from George Washington University, and received a Bachelors of Music degree from James Madison University in Piano Performance.  

       

Mrs. Glomb attended James Madison University and studied with Dr. Eric Ruple and Ms. Vicki Bernicking. She has also studied under master teachers including Dr. Andre Thomas, Dr. Judy Bowers, and Dr. Kevin Fenton from Florida State University.  

      

Mrs. Glomb's students are the recipients of numerous awards and regularly receive the highest ratings in competitions and festivals including All-County, All-District, All-State and Senior Honor's Choir.  Many of her students have gone to major/minor in music in colleges across the nation including Belmont, Michigan University, Florida State University, Michigan State University, Carnegie Melon University, Shenandoah University, James Madison University, University of Virginia, IAMT, Illinois Wesleyan School of Theatre Arts, and others.   


Mrs. Glomb is the previous owner of the musical theatre training company, "Performing Arts Institute" Orlando, Florida.  Students ages 14-21 would work with current Broadway community members in voice, dance and Broadway casting agents in summer musical theatre intensive.  Past guest artists include Sheri Sanders (Rock the Audition), Jodie Langel (Making it on Broadway), Pasek and Paul (The Greatest Showman and Dear Evan Hansen), Michelle Kittrell (original broadway cast Legally Blonde, Grease, Footloose) and Arbender Robinson (In Transit, Shuffle Along, Little Mermaid, Hairspray, The Lion King, Book of Mormon).

     

She has served as District Chair in Fairfax County and was selected as a “Future Leader” through Virginia Music Educators Association. Choirs under her direction have performed for the Virginia Music Educators Association, National Tree Lighting Program at President’s Park, White House, Lee-Fendall House, Washington Bach Consort, Disney Candlelight Honor Choir, and Fairfax County In-Services. In addition, Mrs. Glomb’s ensembles most recently performed at the Virginia Music Educator’s Association Conference in Hot Springs, Virginia and was featured on Channel 7 news show "Good Morning Washington." Mrs. Glomb has presented sessions for American Choral Director’s Association, Florida Music Educator’s Association and Orange County Public Schools.  She is the current VA-ACDA R and S chair for Women's Music and Southern ACDA R and S chair for MS music. 

       

Additionally, she continues to serve as a clinician and guest conductor for middle and high school honor choirs, as well as a festival adjudicator, throughout the state Virginia and Maryland.  She is the choral director at Osbourn High School in Manassas, Virginia. 

   


Mrs. Glomb is a member of NAfME, VMEA, ACDA, NATS and SAI.

     


She resides in Bristow, Virginia with her husband Scott and three sons Lucas, Carter, Nicholas, and her dachshund, Dusty.
